Credentials/Staff

Our staff of direct care workers will all have at least 3 years of experience and a Masters degree. Our prospective temporary homes will have undergone a comprehensive and extensive training component designed to lend the proficiency necessary to impart appropriate decision making and other life related skills to your youth. Ultimately, the staff of our Management Firm (International Phoenix Group) has many years of combined experience in working with complicated children and youth. The credentials/requirements of some our staff are as follows:

John H. Mason, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist with a PhD. From Ohio State in 1982. He has a Masters in counseling from Wittenberg University and a B.A. from Urbana College. He has been in private practice from 1983 specializing in adolescent and family psychotherapy. He has been a consultant to various Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services on stress management issues. He has also consulted with various Juvenile Courts and has been a professor at Columbus State College and Belmont Technical College. For six years he was the Executive Director of the Saugus Juvenile Center and for two years he was a Juvenile Probation Officer. He has authored numerous professional papers and is a member in good standing of the American Psychological Association. He is the National Treatment Director of The Phoenix Group.

William Hanlin M.Div. B.A. has his Masters in Divinity and his Bachelors in Psychology. Most recently the Director of Adolescent Mental Health Services for Talbot House, Cincinnati, Ohio. Managed both an adolescent residential unit for males and a coed SBH program. Has a prior history of 31 years of administrative experience with adolescents. Nineteen years with a hospital based Mental Health Center and 10 years with a multi-state treatment foster care program and two years as a private psychiatric hospital Director of Admissions and Human Resources. He is currently the National Director of Recruitment for The Phoenix Group.

GeorgAnn Mullen-Clemans, B.A., LSW, has 25 years of private service to youth and families. She has worked extensively in the treatment foster arena, as a direct care worker, divisional director and on the design and implementation of In Home Intervention Programs in Ohio, Nevada and Indiana. She has also worked in a residential treatment center for youth and at a hospital for the criminally insane. She has been involved in the managed care arena and has worked with multiple Family and Children First Councils in Ohio to develop individual programs for families and youth.
