Strategies for Enhanced Outcomes for Youth

High-risk youth require intensive support to ensure positive results. The support provided by the treatment foster parents would be enhanced on a weekly basis by services provided by Phoenix Homes family and treatment coordinators.

A goal of the Phoenix Homes program is to limit the maximum length of stay to 18 months, with the child either returning to his or her family or moving on to permanent placement or independent living within that time. And to ensure the success of family reunification (if identified as a treatment goal), program staff will work with childs natural parents and provide follow-up support for three months after the family is reunited without any additional costs to the referring agency.

Developing healthy habits is an important method for impacting high-risk youth in positive ways. To accomplish this, our staff will teach program youth about the four pillars of wellness: nutrition, exercise, stress reduction and psycho- spiritual growth. Each youth will be encouraged to establish and continue a personal wellness routine to support their mental and physical well being.
